Walter James Swanzy, age 77, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023. He was born on September 6, 1946. He was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was a 1964 St. Martin High School graduate. He worked at Ingalls Shipyard and served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Magnolia Masonic Lodge #120. His passions included coaching youth football, little league baseball, deer hunting, running dogs and Mississippi State. He loved his grandchildren, who were his most prized possessions. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, JM Swanzy and Henrietta Fayard Swanzy and sister, Pamela Swanzy Burg.
He is survived by his three sons: Clint Swanzy (Leslie), Luke Swanzy (Monica), and Kelly Swanzy. His four grandchildren: Hunter Swanzy (Brenée), Peyton Swanzy Swaggerty (Travis), Megan Swanzy, and Luke Henry Swanzy. One great-grandchild, Sutton Hollie Swaggerty. His sister, Myra Swanzy Polk (Curtis) and brother, Bruce Swanzy (Shelia).
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
