William Taibl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bauman Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Oct. 19, 2024.
William "Bill" A. Taibl, age 76 of Oswego, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at AccentCare Hospice in Naperville, IL on November 15, 2023. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to William and Lillian (Lyndoe) Taibl.
Bill grew up in Wheaton, IL. and graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1965. Growing up, he became passionate about the art of Judo, and trained until he reached the level of brown belt. After graduation, he enrolled at Elgin Community College. It was during the Vietnam Conflict, that he made the decision to enlist in the Army, where he could proudly serve his nation.
Once discharged in 1971, he decided to go back to school, enrolling at Western Illinois University. It was during his time there that he met the love of his life, Eileen. They would date until uniting in marriage on December 16, 1972, in Oak Lawn, IL.
Upon graduation, he began his career in sales, working for Lanier, OkiData and Ricoh. He was committed to his career, and that dedication would take them from Macomb, where he was a member of the Jaycees, to Champaign and then settling in Naperville for over 30 years. He and Eileen spent the last 13 years here in Oswego.
When not busy working his sales calls, Bill could be found spending much time outdoors. Being able to take advantage of the Illinois land, he enjoyed hunting and spending time on the water and woodworking when needing something to do with his hands. Later in life, the love of the outdoors and boating would take Bill and Eileen to wonderful seaside locations in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Florida and their favorite, Aruba. For the last 10 years he was able to travel with Eileen to Aruba twice a year, creating wonderful memories together during retirement.
Back at home, he was known as a wonderful cook. He was known for his seafood creations, especially Crab Legs, and creating wonderful Chinese dishes. Of course, maybe with a sweet Manhattan in his hand. The Taibl's were a close-knit family, and his love of his family showed in the dedication he provided to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Once things began to slow down, he filled his days working at Lowes in Geneva, watching action movies, and traveling shows and many lunch dates with his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Eileen Taibl (nee Graf) ; children William "Bill" (Kat) Taibl and Dawn (Nate) Becker; grandchildren Trenton "Trent" Becker, Natalie Leland, Brandon Becker, Jordyn Becker and William "Will" Taibl; brother Richard "Rick" Taibl; Brother In Law William "Bill" (Barb) Graf and Nephews Brian (Emily) Taibl and Michael (Cathy) Graf and his late niece Mary Kate Graf.
There will be an open house on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. for family and friends. Please contact the family or leave your contact details in the guestbook and location information will be provided.
