William P. Thomason passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025. He had a wonderful ninety years.
Bill was born in Maverick, Texas, in 1935 and died in Uvalde, Texas, in 2025. Between those dates, he led a successful, loving, action-packed life that was full of family, friends, fun, and adventure.
He married his high school sweetheart, Nelda Faubion, in 1953, and they shared 71 years, raising two children. Bill was a respected business leader in Dallas, a rancher in Maverick, and a retiree in Fort Clark Springs. More than anything, he was dad and grandpa.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Nelda; his parents, Will and Mildred Thomason; and his sister, Carol Lynn Blumentritt. Bill is survived by his children, David and wife, Gail, and Micha Aldon and husband, Tom; six grandchildren: Lindsay Reinberg (Andy), Katie Aldon, Marshall Thomason (Samantha), Mary Aldon (Nick Teodosio), Darcy Weyent (Kevin), and Kelsey Campbell (Landon); and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Tommie Chambers (Glenn), and his special friend, Jan Metcalf. Each of whom he adored and shared a special relationship with.
There will be a celebration of his life at a future date. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Methodist Church of Brackettville, 105 James St, Brackettville, TX 78832, (830) 563-0244, in Bill Thomason's name, to build a new prayer garden, there.
