William Marion "Bill" Traugott, (age 90) was born on March 15,1935, in Woodford County, Kentucky, to John Peter Traugott and Flora (Redmon) Traugott.
Bill did his undergraduate work at Georgetown University, and then earned his Masters Degree at the University of Kentucky and his PhD. Degree at Kansas State University.
During the first half of Bill's career, he was a superintendent for the Department of Defense Overseas Schools, and he spent the second half as a professor and a department head at Western Kentucky University and as a farmer in Logan County.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby (Mallory) Traugott; his son, William Mallory Traugott, of Bowling Green, Ky.; his daughter, Margaret "Gretchen" (Traugott) Gowda, of Cheltenham, England, and three granddaughters, Kipling Gowda, Mathilda Traugott and Adeline Traugott; and a brother, Martin Traugott, of Versailles, Kentucky.
A private graveside service and interment will be held at his boyhood country church in Woodford County, Kentucky.
