William Boyd Truelove, known affectionately as Boyd to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on Saturday, June 15, 1946, in Provo, Kentucky, Boyd's life was a testament to the values of love, adventure, and analytical thinking that he held dear.
Boyd was a proud United States Vietnam Army Veteran, a man of faith as a member of Monticello Missionary Baptist Church, and an active participant in his community through his involvement with the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Provo Fish Club, and as a distinguished member of the Kentucky Trap Shooting Hall of Fame Team. His professional life was marked by a successful career at Berry Plastics, where he retired as the Business Finance Director.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Marvin "WM" and Mildred McKenney Truelove, and his nephew, Sean Wilson. Boyd's memory is cherished by his wife of 55 years, Martha Jane Mallory Truelove, whom he married on February 28, 1970.
Boyd's legacy continues through his children: William Chad Truelove (Denise) of Prosper, TX; Charles Jonathan Truelove (Heather) of Hendersonville, TN; and Susannah Ashley Truelove of Bowling Green, KY. His grandchildren, who brought him immense joy, include Hannah and Hartley Truelove of Prosper, TX; Addison Groves of Bowling Green, KY, Marley and Kingston Truelove of Hendersonville, TN, Owen and J. Gardner Brown of Bowling Green, KY.
He is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis Ann Weaver (Bruce) of Kissimmee, FL, and Carolyn Wilson (Milton) of Provo, KY, along with several loving nieces and nephews.
An avid outdoorsman, Boyd's interests included hunting and fishing. He found great joy in taking care of the family farm, riding his ATV across the fields, and watching Western movies. Those who knew Boyd would describe him as loving, adventurous, and analytical-a man who approached life with a keen mind and a warm heart.
