William F. Ullrich, age 85, a U.S. Army veteran and parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Naperville, was born on August 30, 1939, to Katharina and Fred Ullrich in Blue Island, Illinois. He graduated from DeVry University and last worked at Hanna Cylinders in Chicago as a machine maintenance manager before his retirement in 2001.
William is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Carmella; his adoring daughters, Tina Dufkis (Frank) and Lisa Ziede (Frank); two loving grandchildren, Avalon Dufkis and Carter Ziede; and loyal granddog, Copper.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his three sisters, Shirley, Betty, and sweet Wilma.
William was a hardworking man of faith who loved his family. It did not take much to please him: eating a good homemade meal, watching a Cubs game, tinkering in his garden, or just having family around.
Special thanks are extended to Angel's Grace Hospice and the nurses, CNAs, and staff at St. Patrick's Residence for their compassionate care of William in his time there.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, 8:00-10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd., Naperville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Saturday, 10:00 A.M at St. Patrick's Residence.
Future Inurnment: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
