I already posted one memory, but I forgot to mention Jeff's musical accomplishments. Jeff took piano lessons as an adult and mastered difficult, classical pieces. He was kind enough to refer his piano instructor, and I took lessons for a year or so.
I remember a student recital where we both played. I performed something like "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and Jeff played a demanding Chopin or Mozart composition.

Jeff and I were partners at Crowe LLP.
Tall, trim, and articulate, Jeff had a strong executive presence. Jeff was a tax expert who could explain complicated issues in plain English.
On top of his more than ample client workload, Jeff was kind enough to prepare our personal tax returns. Although the service was worth a lot, the fee was usually just a dozen golf balls.
Jeff had a quick wit and was good company. He was also a good athlete.
I remember a softball game at the park next to our Oak Brook office. The dimensions were distant, and Jeff was the only one who connected for a homer over the fence. I was quite impressed. Jeff batted left-handed, and he obviously had power and a good swing.
Jeff had a full life, with a wonderful wife and family. We only wish that Jeff could have had a much longer and healthier retirement to enjoy with Diane, family, and friends.
