William Lamar Vinson, of Social Circle, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 82. Mr. Vinson, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. He spent 33 years with AT&T before retiring and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for six years. A faithful member of First Baptist Church Stone Mountain, he also served as a deacon.
Mr. Vinson found great joy in the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or enjoying sports. A true Georgia Tech fan, he rarely missed cheering for his team. His life was marked by dedication to his family, his work, his church, and the simple pleasures of nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Jeanette Vinson; sisters, Doris Southerland, Sue Bearden, Mable Bearden, Nancy Palmer.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Vinson; son, Lamar Vinson (Lynn), daughter, Lori Tedder (Ted); grandchildren, Lindsey Vinson, Dylan Tedder (Abby), Reilly Tedder (Mary); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
A Graveside Service for Mr. Vinson will be held Monday, September 29, 2025, 2:00 P.M., at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Parkway, in Snellville with Reverend Tim Bearden and Reverend Ted Tedder officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family Monday, from 11:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
