William James "Buzz" Wilson, age 79, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, after prolonged health issues, on January 27, 2026. Buzz was born on November 28, 1946, He was a longtime resident of Centreville, Maryland, and most recently resided in Woodbine, Maryland.

Known to many simply as Buzz, he was a devoted father, grandfather (Pop), brother, and friend whose life was defined by love and adventure. He is survived by his children, Shane Wilson (Shelly) and Shannon Hamshey (Scott), Kelly Sloskey (Dave), Stacy Early (Dan), Jill Royston (Zach), and his grandchildren Drew Wilson (Morgan), Samantha Hamshey, Dylan Wilson (Kennedy), Hailey Hamshey, Ben Sloskey, Kristen Sloskey, Jason Price (Mallory), Alissa Price (Jack), and Evan Royston. An adventurer at heart, Buzz was always ready for the next adventure he loved boating, traveling, fishing, crabbing, RVing, exploring and spending time with his family, friends and wife Cindy. From "Caribbean Dreams" to the "Glass Slipper," Captain Buzz loved cruising and entertaining on the Chesapeake Bay. He was famously competitive, especially when it came to playing card games.

Buzz was a proud entrepreneur and founder of Snap-Wall, Inc., creating it into a family business now in its third generation, partnering and running alongside his son, Shane. Where his work ethic, morals, and relationships remain at the core of the company.

William James "Buzz" Wilson will be best remembered for his adventurous spirit, his deep love for his family and friends, and his caring, generous heart. He was a loving teacher, a problem solver, and a man who truly embraced life. His legacy lives on in the lessons he shared and the many lives he touched.

Buzz was previously married to Fran (Scott) Bezold, the mother of their two children, Shane and Shannon.

In lieu of a celebration of life, his children will be honoring their father's wishes with a private memorial at sea at a later date.

A kind and caring neighbor and friend, no matter what he had going on, Buzz always had time to stop and ask how we were and if we needed anything. We were so fortunate to have Buzz and Cindy next door all those years.

Buzz lovingly(and very smartly) taught us how to use the phrase, "First Time Boaters Here" as he helped teach us how to enjoy our first boat. Larry and I enjoyed many happy times with Buzz and Cindy, both on the boats and over long dinners! They both are truly missed.
