William L. (Bill) Young, Jr., 78, of Lester, PA, passed away after a prolonged illness on September 17, 2025 at his home with his loving wife at his side.

Bill was born in Philadelphia to Eugene Franklin Wakely and Martha Roberts on November 7, 1946, and was later adopted by William Leon Young and Catherine Wakely of Oaklyn, New Jersey.

A 1966 graduate of Collingswood High School, Bill was awarded for his participation in the Marching Band. He studied the saxophone and took lessons from a young age. An accomplished saxophonist, Bill performed in many venues throughout New Jersey.

Bill worked as a Millwright for DuPont Chambers Works, Pennsgrove, NJ for many years, later working at Kaeverner Shipyard, Philadelphia, and Boeing Helicopter in Ridley Park where he made many friends.

In the early 1980's Bill owned and operated Video Vault on Lincoln Avenue in Prospect Park where he rented movies and video games to the local community.

Bill was a proud member and Past Master of Lansdowne Lodge No. 711 of the Free and Accepted Masons for over 25 years.

Bill had many friends and welcomed them all into his home throughout the year for parties that sometimes lasted for days.

Bill is survived by his wife of many years Lynn Ferry Young, his stepson Keith G. Ferry, brothers Michael Sherlock, James Sherlock, and Eugene Craft, sisters Maryanne Baehr, Jacqueline Sherlock, Kathi Rivera, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased in death by his parents, his son William Andrew Young, sisters Michaeline Sherlock and Martha Jean Ast, brothers John Roberts, Gerald Sherlock, Thomas Sherlock and Robert Baldwin.
