Willie Jean Williams Allen
"She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." – Proverbs 31:25
Willie Jean Williams Allen, a longtime resident of Jackson, Louisiana, and native of Tangipahoa, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Allen retired from Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System after 30 years of dedicated service and had enjoyed her retirement for the past 30 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose greatest joy was caring for her family. Known for her Sunday dinners, her skill in sewing, and her loving presence at countless sporting events for her children and grandchildren, she embodied strength, love, and generosity. She also cherished her quiet mornings with a cup of coffee and the daily newspaper.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, where she was an active member, in Jackson, Louisiana, on August 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Joe Nesom. Interment will follow at Second Baptist Church Cemetery. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Brenda Allen Brian of Clinton, LA; Debbie Allen Norsworthy of Jackson, LA; and Tracy Allen Stevens (James "Peanut" Stevens) of Ethel, LA; and one son, Billy Roy Allen Jr. of Centreville, MS. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Jason Allen, whom she lovingly raised as her own, and his wife, Carla Connell Allen, and their children Rileigh Allen Darden (Jake Darden), Olivia Allen, and Jason "Jace" Allen Jr., all of St. Francisville, LA; Josh Perkins (Jenny Perkins) of Slaughter, LA; Jeana Perkins Peterson (Glen Peterson) of Slaughter, LA; James Allen Stevens (Erika Stevens) of Angola, LA; Jaci Stevens Vannoy of Jackson, LA; Adam Allen of Centreville, MS; and Anna Allen Carrier (Stonewall Carrier) of Norwood, LA. She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and her beloved cousin and "sister in love," Paulette Williams Holden.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Billy Roy "Woodsie" Allen Sr.; her parents, Helen Fontenot and Collins Williams; her sons-in-law, Havard Brian and James "Jimmy" Norsworthy, and her great-grandson, Watson James Stevens. Pallbearers will be Josh Perkins, James Allen Stevens, Adam Allen, Jason "Jace" Allen Jr., Woodsie Perkins, and Laiken Peterson. Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Noland, Joe Schwartz, Joe Bueche, Mitch Allen, Glen Peterson, Jake Darden, and Brian Hurst. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Feliciana Home Health, St. Joseph's Hospice, and her granddaughter Jeana Peterson for their loving care during her final days.
