Willie Edward Ashford, 69 of Crossett, AR transitioned May 9, 2025, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. He was a native of Hamburg, AR, a retired road construction laborer, an Army National Guard veteran, and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice "Kitty" Lewis, one sister, Savannah Barnes, and a brother M.C. Barnett. Willie loved his church and was a faithful member. He served on the transportation ministry, attended Bible Study, was a member of the Men's Sunday School class, and the Male Chorus. He enjoyed listening to music and playing dominoes. He was an avid sports fan who loved football, basketball, and track. He is survived by five sons, Delvin Clark and Darrius Ashford both of Okmulgee, OK, Vondrez Ray and wife Kimberly of Wilmot, AR, Dwight Ashford and twin Dewayne Ashford both of Crossett, AR, four daughters, Teresa Acey and Natetia Ashford both of Crow, New York, Shaunyetta Ashford of Dallas, TX, and Nadrianna Ashford of Tallahasee, FL,one sister, Girtie Jackson of Maumelle, AR, two brothers, Johnny Ashford of Crossett, AR, and Jessie Ray Williams of Hamburg, AR, twenty-seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends. Visitation is Sunday, May 18, 2025, 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Funeral service is Monday, May 19, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jesse Radford, Jr. and Pastor Michelangelo Watkins officiating. Pallbearers are his sons and his brothers. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Dawson, James Hicks, Johnny Dupree, Fredie Hargraves, Nathaniel Jasper, and Johnathan Young. Burial in Philip Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
