Willie R. Bradford

Willie Ralph Bradford, lovingly referred to as Poncho, began his earthly journey on April 24, 1957, in Anniston, Alabama. He was the beloved son of William Bradford, Sr. and Naomi Bradford. Poncho exemplified the very essence of hard work, kindness, and independence throughout his journey. Willie was educated in the Anniston City School System and graduated from Anniston High School. He was an outstanding athlete on the track and field team where his speed and dedication shone brightly. Shortly after high school, Willie enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country for almost twelve years. After his time in the military, he returned home and embarked on a fulfilling career in the construction industry, where his skill and willingness to help anyone made him a dependable handyman in the community. Friends and neighbors could always count on Poncho to be there, helping with a smile and a kind word. His friendly nature was infectious, and he valued harmony over conflict, choosing not to engage in arguments that could disrupt a good day. On Saturday, September 27, 2025, with loved ones by his side, Willie Bradford, at the age of 68, completed his earthly journey and transitioned to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, William Bradford, Sr. and Naomi Bradford, and his brother, William Bradford, Jr. Willie Bradford's loving memories will forever be treasured by his children, Senical (Brandy) Bradford, Mary Nation, Telandria McElderry, Durrell McElderry, and Jarred (Val) McElderry; nine grandchildren; siblings, Shirley (Willie) Grant, Bobby (Cassandra) Bradford, Teresa Bradford, Michael (Krystal) Bradford, and Tabatha Brewster; special friend, Darlene Briskey; and a host of other relatives and friends. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
