Mr. Willie Frank Corner

Mr. Willie Frank Corner was born on June 9, 1956, in Pensacola, Florida, to the union of Marie and Jessie Corner, Sr. Willie was the third of five children born to this union. He began his educational journey in the city of Pensacola at Olive Elementary School, went on to Wedgewood Middle School, and graduated from Woodham High School. As a result of his athletic abilities and focus, he was awarded a scholarship to play football at the University of Southern Mississippi and was ultimately afforded an opportunity to play in the NFL. He decided not to pursue that route and chose instead to pursue a career in Athletic Administration and Physical Education, which ended up being one of his greatest joys in life.
After he graduated from college, Willie decided to move to Huntsville, Alabama, along with his brother, Emmett Anderson, Jr., (Deceased). He always worked hard and among the companies he provided his skills included The Von Braun Civic Center, where he met his future wife, Linda Faye Bone Corner; The Huntsville Marriott, Winn Dixie Stores, and Bruno s. With a degree in hand and a complete knowledge of football coaching, he taught Physical Education and coached football at Prattville High School, Brundidge High School, Leeds High School, and Irondale Middle School. While on this career path, he also found another passion - which was to mentor young men and help them stay on the right track to receive an education and make good decisions about their lives.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Marie Corner; his father, Jessie Corner, Sr., his loving and devoted wife, Linda Faye Bone Corner; beloved brothers: Donald Corner, Sr., Jessie Corner, Jr., and Emmett Anderson, Jr. He also leaves to cherish his memories a devoted daughter, LaToya ReShay Corner; beloved brothers: Raymond (Kimberly) Corner, Dwight (Alicia) Anderson and Amos Fowler; beloved sisters: Faye Jones and Patricia Anderson Tipton; special nieces: Emily Anderson, Rhea Anderson, and Michelle Jones; and special nephews: Tavaris Anderson and Brian (Francille) Anderson. In addition, he also leaves to cherish his memories a host of extended family, friends, and others. Last, but definitely not least, he also leaves to cherish his memories Willie Traywick and his Woodham High School Football Team Bruhs .
Committal service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Valhalla Memory Gardens (698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35811).
Public viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Royal Funeral Home.
