Ms. Willie Mae Hernandez passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Alvin.
Born April 13, 1942, in Houston, TX, Ms. Hernandez attended Shrine of True Cross Catholic Church. She lived life on her own terms - never worried, always speaking her mind, and never caring what others thought. Her faith was unwavering, and she believed that everything would be fine no matter what the circumstance. Her personality was as vibrant as it was quirky. She loved to laugh, be silly, and keep things lighthearted, all while making sure her little kitchen got done. With a heart full of love, Willie cared deeply for her family. Her laughter and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Annie Mae (Stevens) Hernandez; the love of her life, John; brothers, Bill Stevens, James Inman, Jim Hernandez; sister, Mary Sue Gifford; nephews, Andy Lopez, Rigo Aguilaura; faithful companion; Miss Kitty.
Survivors include her son, James Hernandez and wife, Sheri; sisters, Shirley Lopez and husband, Frank, Clara Juarez and husband, Jim, Janie Faircloth; grandchildren, Samantha Mardis and husband, Daryl, Heather Wanca and husband, Billy, Jessica Hernandez and Brandon Foller, Chance Hernandez; great grandchildren, Logan Mardis, Kynlee Wanca, Angel Mardis, Jonathan Mardis, Jett James Mardis; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Laurel Court for all their compassionate support and care over the years.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2025, at Seabrook Community House, 1210 Anders Lane, Seabrook, Texas 77586.
