Willie Marie Lyons, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, left this world on June 21, 2025, at her home in Alamo, Tennessee, after a courageous battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Born on January 30, 1967, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, Willie was affectionately known for her devotion and love for her family, and she radiated warmth and affection to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A member of the Maury City Church of God, Willie was a woman of faith whose spirit uplifted those around her. She possessed a personality that could only be described as enchanting; fondly referred to as "sleeping beauty," she cherished her beauty sleep and shared countless joyful moments watching movies with her family. Her fondness for shopping adventures with her daughter Jessica led her down the delightful path of online shopping, keeping her front steps bustling with deliveries that brought a smile to her face.
Marie's family was her world. She leaves behind her loving husband, Jimmy Lyons Sr., alongside her cherished children: sons Timothy Ray Kilburn and his wife MacKenzie of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Jimmy Lee Lyons Jr. of Alamo, Tennessee, and her daughter, Jessica Lyons, who is engaged to Andrew LeBlanc of Maury City, Tennessee. She is also survived by her adoring five grandchildren: Dallas Lee Dewitt Lyons, Nolan Coy Ray Rowan, Lathan Elijah Rowan, Maddie Kilburn, and Jewels Kilburn.
She is remembered with love not only by her immediate family but also by her mother, Helen Carolyn Mealer Farmer, residing in Maury City, Tennessee; her brother, William Ray Farmer Jr., and his wife Mary Lou, of Maury City, Tennessee; and her sister, Helen Marie Jones, also of Maury City, Tennessee. Her legacy shall continue to warm the hearts of her lifelong best friend, Michelle Williams Gutzman, among others. She also leaves her beloved dogs, “Cooper” and “Pluto” and her cat “Bells”.
Marie Lyons is reunited in eternal rest with her late father, William Ray Farmer, Sr. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, the memories of her kindness, laughter, and the unwavering dedication she exhibited toward her family will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
Her life will be honored with a funeral service held at Bells Funeral Home on June 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM A visitation will be on June 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. Marie will then be laid to rest at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Friendship, Tennessee, following her burial on June 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM.
In her passing, Marie leaves a legacy not only of love but also a profound sense of inspiration for all who were graced to cross her path. Her memory shall live on through her family and friends, reflecting the beauty she embodied throughout her life.
