Willie Shoemaker Jr.

Willie Shoemaker Jr., 71, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026 in his home.

He was born on March 31, 1954 in Chicago, IL, the son of Willie and Minnie (Wallace) Shoemaker. Willie was a 1973 Westin House Academy graduate. He married Rosie Young on September 2, 1975 in Chicago, IL.

Willie was formerly employed by Continental Transport as a mechanic until his retirement in 2004. He could often be found tinkering around and working on cars. Willie loved fishing, singing, listening to music, and playing the guitar. He also had an extensive collection of guns. Willie enjoyed being in the kitchen and was known to bake a good lemon cake. Above all, he cherished spending time with family and his special friend, Roberta Adams.

Survivors include his daughters, Tammy (Wayne) Jones of Beloit, WI, Michelle Horton of Janesville, WI, and Josephine Young of Rockford, IL; sons, Willie B. Shoemaker III of Beloit, WI, Emmanuel Wolfe of Milwaukee, WI, William Wolfe of Beloit, WI, and John Wolfe of Janesville, WI; granddaughters, Porshayla "Buttonhead" Jones, Tekira "Pretty Face" Jones, DeEricka "Little Bit" Jones, Adriana "Andy" Jones, and Neveah "Lil Neeva" Jones; two great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

Willie was predeceased by his parents; maternal grandparents, Samantha and Elijah Wallace; brother, Rickey Shoemaker; and wife, Rosie Shoemaker.

A Funeral Service for Willie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026 in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Pastor Sherrick Anderson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
