Richard Kinzer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium on Mar. 19, 2026.
The man, the myth, the legend, Richard R. "Dick" "Snake" Kinzer, 77, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 26, 1948 in Beloit, WI, the son of Ralph and Norma Jean (Sturtevant) Kinzer. Dick was a 1966 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Sergeant stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Dick married Jeanne Roland on October 22, 1983 in Beloit, WI.

Dick was formerly employed by the City of Beloit as the City Street Supervisor until his retirement in 2005. He had a passion for being out on the water and went through 3B's Captain School to become a US Coast Guard licensed Captain to sail the seas. Dick was a member of the Star Zenith Boat Club. He loved boating; especially with his friends who quickly became known as the "Rock River Rats." Dick lived for fishing and went on many fishing trips with his friends over the years. He spent many years fishing on Sand Lake in Webster, WI. Dick was a social butterfly and enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit friends. He was an avid Green Bay Packer, Wisconsin Badger, and huge NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Kinzer; daughter, Sandra "Sandi" (Alex) Bingham; grandchildren, Veronica and Mordecai Bingham; brother, Donald "Fritz" (Lynn) Kinzer; nieces and nephews, Sammi (Chad) Linder, Phil (Julie) Dantuma, and Mark (Susan) Dantuma; great nieces and great nephews; brother-in-law, John (Pam) Roland; other relatives and friends, including the Rock River Rats, Bryce (Joan) Patch, Dick (Bev) Schindler, Roger (Jackie) Gilman, Rick (Carol) Rochester and their children, Patrick and Caitlyn.

Dick was predeceased by his parents and sister, Susan (Bill) Dantuma.

His family would like to thank his neighbors Craig and Carla Johnson for stopping by multiple times a day to help with anything he needed.

A Memorial Service for Dick will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI.
