Mr Willis Franklin Oliphant

Willis Franklin Oliphant Carthage, MS Willis Franklin "Frank" Oliphant, 90, passed away without any prior chronic illness, at home in Carthage, Mississippi on September 28, 2025. Frank was the only child of Jefferson Davis "JD" Oliphant and Verbie Eugenia Whittington and was born in McComb, Mississippi on January 2, 1935. He moved back to the family farm in 1990 following retirement and a 30-year career working as a physicist at the Naval Research Laboratory outside of Washington, D. C. Frank is survived by the mother of his children, Dr. Beverly Oliphant/Martin (John) of Daleville, Virginia and his daughter Ingrid Catrel Oliphant of Colorado. He is also survived by his son Eric Brandon Oliphant (Sandra) of Lake Monticello, Virginia and their two sons, Jack Davis Oliphant currently attending Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi and Dale Murray Oliphant who will begin US Air Force Basic Military Training in December of 2025. A celebration of his life will take place October 5, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Edinburg, MS at 2:00 PM.
