Wilma Lois "Pat" Anstine, 91, a longtime resident of Arkansas City passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the Presbyterian Manor in
Arkansas City, Kansas. Friends may greet the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Sam Brand will officiate with a Christian Burial to follow at Hope Cemetery.
Pat was born July 23, 1932, to Ferdinando Emeal and Agnes Pauline (Eck) Buzzi in Newkirk, OK. Growing up she attended Stonie Point Country School, and Sacred Heart Catholic School, and in 1950 she graduated from Arkansas City High School. Pat went on to attend and graduate from Arkansas City Junior College with a degree in Home Economics.
On July 21, 1953, Pat united in marriage with Robert "Bob" Anstine, her soulmate, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Arkansas City. As a dedicated homemaker, Pat found immense joy in tending to her family's needs as a devoted homemaker. Babysitting became a beloved activity for her, and she wholeheartedly embraced and cherished caring for her grandchildren and others. Possessing a multitude of talents, Pat generously shared the fruits of her skills with both family and friends. Recognized as a skilled seamstress, she gained acclaim for her exquisite dressmaking for numerous family weddings. Crocheting blankets for her family and crafting doilies were among her delightful contributions. Pat's fame extended to her delectable cinnamon rolls, a treat that was always ready for family visits, after wrestling tournaments, or for the Sacred Heart School auctions. Her leisure activities included family camping trips, boating, skiing, and swimming with her kids and grandkids at Kaw Lake, extensive worldwide travels with family and friends, and cheering on her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids at sporting events and other various activities. Pat cherished the arrival of every new family member, and until her last days, the joy of cradling the babies brought her profound happiness.
A steadfast member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pat dedicated many years to the Altar Society. Known affectionately as "Grandma Pat," she radiated Christ-filled love, illuminating the lives of those around her with warmth and kindness. A pillar of unwavering strength, her commitment to family and friends, particularly her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, wove a tapestry of joy eternally etched in the hearts of her family. Her absence is keenly felt by family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Tonganoxie, KS; Sondra Vandever of Arkansas City; Gary Anstine (Betty) of Arkansas City; Barry Anstine (Liz) of
Overland Park, KS; Terry Anstine of Arkansas City, Sheila Anstine (Rod Soule) of Arkansas City; grandchildren Angie Ruyle (Kyle) of Arkansas City; Lacy Colquhoun (Seth) of Arkansas City; Wyatt Williamson (Stephanie) of Canyon City, CO; Heath Williamson of Kansas City, MO; Lucas Williamson (Greta) of
Overland Park, KS; Cassi Lund (Dave) of Arkansas City; Travis Vandever (Andrea) of
Shawnee, KS; Amanda Jennings (Stephen) of Arkansas City; Amber Quint (Dustin) of Arkansas City; Adam Anstine of
Olathe, KS; Alison Reigel (Brandon) of
Olathe, KS; Anna Anstine of
Overland Park, KS; Tori Anstine of Arkansas City; Shelby Roberson (Shiloh) of Arkansas City; Patty Swartzell (Jake Taton) of Arkansas City; Chase Swartzell (Nelly) of
Vidor, TX; 30 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Anstine of 67 years, her parents, two brothers Edward and Robert Buzzi, two sisters Elizabeth Buzzi and Joanna (Jody) Mae Barnthouse, and son-in-law Garrett Vandever.
