On April 4, 1947, Wilma was born to John Washington Hawthorne and Voida Glee Branscum-Gresham in Roswell, New Mexico. Wilma attended Eastern New Mexico University where she earned her degree in bookkeeping and worked for Ray Bell Oil & Gas for many years. Wilma was deeply loved by all her family and friends. Wilma had a love for many things in life from spending time with her family to going yard selling.
Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Wilma are the love of her life and husband of 33 years, William Goodall of Roswell, NM; one son, John and his wife Sandy Whitt of Alto, NM; two daughters: Ruthie Whitt of Roswell, NM, and Teresa and her husband Jeff Smith of Dexter, NM; two sisters: Johnnie Mae Scott of Roswell, NM, Evelyn M. Aderholt of Stratford, OK; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many other family.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents: John Washington Hawthorne and Voida Glee Branscum-Gresham; and one son, Vernie David Whitt Jr.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service and lunch at the Eagles located at 3201 S. Sunset Ave., Roswell, NM, 88203, on Sunday, November 17, at 11 am.
Wilma's tribute was lovingly written by her family.
