Wilma Jean Keller, age 81, of Garwin, Iowa, passed away peacefully at Westbrook Acres on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Per Jean and her family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 5:00- 7:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted to care for Jean and her family. Wilma Jean Rollins was born on August 25, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa. She was the daughter of Birt and Esther (Lemons) Rollins. Jean attended Allerton High School and graduated with the class of 1962. On May 1, 1964, she married the love of her life, Jimmie Ray Keller in Allerton, Iowa. From this marriage, their six boys were born. Together they had the opportunity to live in various places in Iowa, including Leon, Marshalltown, Toledo, and eventually Garwin. Wilma worked at Grandview Heights in Marshalltown as a Certified Nursing Assistant, then went on to open her in home daycare. After the twins graduated from high school, she returned to Grandview Heights until her retirement in 2007.
Jean enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as reading, watching “Survivor”, and sitting on the porch while she took in the good weather and watching people pass by. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Pat Smith. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. During the Thanksgiving holiday, Jean also enjoyed organizing large get togethers at her home. Jean was known for her chocolate pudding cake and cherry cheesecake. Her family was everything to her.
Wilma is survived by her six sons: Jeffery (Kristy) of Bennett, CO., Michael (Jamie) of Rosehill, IA., Gregory (Deb) of Collins, IA., Matthew (Leisha) of Johnstown, CO., Kevin (Nancy) of Grundy Center, IA., and Kyle Keller of Knoxville, IA.; her grandchildren: Keegan, McKenna, Orrin, Aaron (Melissa), Kayden, Abigail, Tory, Cooper, Bowen, Karsen, Zoe, Pryce, and Portlan; her step grandchildren: Zach, Rachel, and Ethan; her great- grandchildren: Ada, Alice, Max, and Keiran, and her brother Larry (Lois) Rollins of Powersville, MO.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Birt and Esther; her husband Jimmie Ray; her brother Roger Rollins, and her grandson Kole Keller.
