Wilma Arlene Metreyeon Eddy, 85, of Beaumont, Texas went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Wilma was a firm believer in God and was comforted by her faith and family.
Wilma was born on November 2, 1938, in Tarkington Prairie, to Bessie Viola Coker and Johnnie Earsel Coker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Nederland where she often met with her Sunday School Class for activities. She graduated in 1957 from Nederland High School and enjoyed meeting up with her graduating classmates often. Wilma retired from Lamar University. She was also involved for many years with the Red Hat Society, as well as various community activities. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, puzzles, playing dominoes with her friends every week, fishing, painting, and cooking.
Above all else, Wilma loved her family. She took every opportunity to talk about them and loved spending time with everyone together, especially around the holidays. Baking from scratch with her grand and great-grandchildren was one of her favorite things. Teaching them to bake her favorite recipes and passing them on was something everyone enjoyed.
