Mrs. Wilma Jean Rich Vinson

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Vinson, 92, of Marshall, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Hawthorns.
Mrs. Wilma Jean Rich Vinson was born March 21, 1932 in Cass County, Texas. She passed this life March 3, 2025 in Marshall, Texas. Jean was one of five children born to the marriage of Mary Euthel Golden and William Wyatt Rich. She was raised and schooled in Logansport, graduating from Logansport High School. She married John Vinson Sept 17, 1975 and they celebrated 16 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in June of 1991.
Mrs. Vinson spent her career in bookkeeping. She worked for JTS Services until her retirement. She loved her Lord and family above all else. She was active in her community in the American Legion Auxiliary, food pantry and meals on wheels and the Bel-Air Baptist Church. She loved cooking for her family, sewing, gardening, playing cards, coffee with family and friends, and any time spent with her grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her parents, siblings, James William Rich, George William Rich, Mary Ernestine Rich Vann, Syble Inez Rich Boyd; and a daughter, Nina Sue Baker.
Mrs. Vinson is survived by her son, Lovie Dale Baker of Marshall; grandchildren, Lisa Redmon and husband Joe of Gladewater, Lara Baker of Marshall, Leah Whitaker and husband Cody of Carthage, Logan Baker of Marshall; great grandchildren, Kaley Baker and Josue of Marshall, Hanna Voelkel and Garrett of Marshall, Josie Baker of Marshall, Cobyn Whitaker of Carthage, JohnRyan Whitaker of Carthage, Skylar Baker of Marshall, Brianna and Dalton Redmon of Gladewater; great great grandchildren, Joshua, Yaretzi, Jaziel Vences, Stetson, Sutton Ratcliff, and McKinnley and Eli Voelkel; Special nephews, Nubbin Boyd and wife Sue, Joe and Jerry Vann, many other relatives and a host of friends.
