Wilma Fay Watkins, age 79, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in the comfort of her home with family by her side on July 31, 2025. Wilma will be remembered for her loyalty to her family and friends. To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed. Wilma enjoyed playing poker and crafting. She was a member of the East Tennessee Indian League supporting the Cherokee Indians in Tennessee and North Carolina.
Preceded in death by father, Otis Hammock; mother, Elsie Hammock; son, Robert "Bobby" Watkins; brothers, Earl and JC Hammock.
Wilma is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert "Cobb" Watkins; son, Ronnie (Ashley) Watkins; daughter, Michelle (Brian) Thornton; daughter-in-law, Lisa Watkins; grandchildren, Brandi McKelvey (Michael Hall), Matthew (Stef) Watkins, KJ (Mindi) Watkins, Kacy Watkins, Kirstin (Weston) Shepard, April Sharpe and Autumn Watkins; great grandchildren, Thomas Watkins, Damion Watkins, Madison Watkins, Bre McKelvey, Ava Watkins and Reef Watkins.
Family will received friends from Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Bridges Funeral Home. Service will follow at 5:00 pm with Reverend Stephen Gregory officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 4, 2025 for a graveside service at Ridge Way Baptist Church.
