Wilmon Kithcart Jr. (Willie) passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, November 5th,
2024, after a long, brave battle with Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer).
As he was affectionately called, Willie was born on June 21, 1963 (61), in Kingston, NY, to
Wilmon Kithcart Sr. and Melrose Kithcart. He was the Kingston Hartley family line's first
grandchild, nephew, and cousin. From the beginning, Willie was a kind old soul loved by all who
were lucky to know him. His younger sister Jane Marie noted he was a loving son, a great older
brother, and her best friend.
Willie was a dedicated and hard-working man. After graduating high school, he went straight to
work, working in the laundry room of the Kingston Infirmary (Golden Hill) for almost 40 years.
Wille was often seen riding his bike down the Boulevard to get there, as this was his mode of
transportation, and it helped keep him in shape. The bond he made there with his coworkers
would serve him well, as his former coworkers lovingly cared for him towards the end of his life.
They ensured he was comfortable and that his TV had westerns or old movies playing in the
background because that is what he liked to watch.
As an individual, Willie was spiritual and an avid sports and music fan. Even though he did not
attend church, Willie had faith in God and often read Bible scriptures to strengthen his
connection to the Lord. Willie's affection for music and sports was evident from his collection of
records, baseball, and football cards. He loved all good music, but his favorite was from the 60's
and 70's. His favorite football team was the LA Raiders, who became the Las Vegas Raiders,
and he had some feelings about that. Now, if you knew Willie, you knew his true love in sports
was for the NY Yankees baseball team. Willie was often seen wearing a Yankee hat or Jersey,
and he could have endless conversations about players and stats with you.
Willie was a strong, kind, caring, intelligent individual whose presence will be greatly missed. He
is survived by his parents, Will and Melrose, his younger sister Jane, and a host of Aunts,
Uncles, cousins, and friends.

Heaven gained another angel. Willie was the kindest most sweetest person. I used to run into Willie in Stewarts on the Blvd often and we would catch up. We went all through school together. Rest in peace Willie. You will be missed
