Wilson Anthony, a beloved figure from New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away on September 27, 2025, at Iberia Medical. Born on April 26, 1935, Wilson dedicated his life to hard work and family, earning a reputation as a man who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
Throughout his career, Wilson made significant contributions while working at the port of Iberia and tending to the cane fields, exemplifying his strong work ethic and industrious nature. His passion for friends and family was evident as he shared countless memories and joyful moments with those around him. He had a remarkable ability to remember birthdays and anniversaries with impeccable detail, a testament to his caring spirit and sharp memory.
Wilson was not only known for his work and family commitment but also for his enthusiastic spirit as a sports fan. He proudly cheered for the Saints and the Dodgers, engaging in spirited conversations and camaraderie with fellow fans. Bingo was also a beloved pastime, where he enjoyed the thrill of the game alongside friends.
He is remembered lovingly by his family, including his nieces, nephews, and godchildren, who cherished his presence in their lives. Wilson’s legacy is shaped by his caring demeanor, his love for his family, and his unwavering ability to brighten the lives of those he encountered.
Wilson is heartily missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney Anthony Sr. and Silvanie William Anthony, as well as his brothers Calvin, Maurice, Whitney, Murphy, Wilmore, and William, and sisters Louisa, Annette, Hazel, Alva, and Vernice. The love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Visitation will take place on October 4, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Fields Funeral Home located at 712 Center Street, New Iberia, LA. A Rosary will be held at 9:30 AM, and a Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Wilson will be interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, 944 W Main St, New Iberia, LA, after the service.
