Winifred Ann Brooks

Winifred A. Brooks was born on October 6, 1955, in

Rochester, NY, to the late Eugene and Eva Mae Brooks.

She attended School #9 and graduated from Benjamin

Franklin High School.

She had a smile and energy that could light up a room.

Winifred was a loving mother and a dedicated advocate

for drug rehabilitation. She had a deep passion for music

and cooking, both of which she shared generously with

others. Her smile could brighten any day, and she was

known for her honesty and strength. Winifred was never

afraid to hold a mirror to your face, and she bit her

tongue for nobody.

Winifred was predeceased by her daughter, Rachel

Brooks; her granddaughters, Amoni Conner and Layyah

Brooks; and her brothers and sister, Ronald, Willie

Gene, Tarone, Walter, and Cynthia Brooks.

Winifred leaves to cherish her memories her children:

William Brooks, Tazzi Brooks, Alvin Brooks, Jaavaid

Brooks, and Marcus Brooks. She is also survived by 14

grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind her remaining siblings: Clara

Blake, Patricia Frazier, Chauncey Brooks, Anthony

Brooks, and James Brooks, along with a host of nieces,

nephews, cousins, and friends.
