Winnie Elizabeth (Cox) Effler
September 3, 1946 – November 6, 2025
Age 79
Winnie Elizabeth Effler, age 79, of Maynardville, TN, received her eternal reward on
Thursday, November 6, 2025, following a lengthy illness. She was a member of Milan
Baptist Church.
Winnie is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Stella Cox, and brother, Alco
Cox.
Left to cherish Winnie's memory is her beloved husband of fifty-eight (58) years, John
Effler. She is further survived by children: Jared and Mary Effler, Carl and Jane Hansen,
and Jacob and Lauren Effler; grandchildren: Neilea Hansen, Katy Beth Effler, Eben
Hansen, Mia Effler, Asher, Atlee and Ansley Effler; siblings: Millie Hartgrove, James and
Ruth Sexton, Connie Nicely and Tim Cox; along with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws
and dear friends.
The family will receive friends at Trinity Funeral Home (228 Main Street, Maynardville,
TN) on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 12 (noon) p.m. A private
graveside service and burial will follow at Effler Family Cemetery for immediate and
extended family, nephew Timothy Cox officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Noah and Josh Sexton, Keith Cox, James Hartgrove, Joe
Nicely, and Eben Hansen. Winnie's grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, Winnie requested that donations be made to the Effler Cemetery
Maintenance Fund, in care of Wes Effler, 190 Quarry Road, Maynardville, TN 37807.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many medical
professionals who provided exemplary care, comfort and friendship to Winnie through
her illness, especially Emily Harless and everyone at Reliant Family Health.
