Winnona Eckart Obituary
Winnona Fay Eckart, 95, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on December 16, 2025. at Harrison County Hospital. She was born March 16, 1930, to the late Alva and Gladys Mauck Lang. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Paul E. Eckart, her brother, Elbert Lang and her sisters, Arlene Smith and Nola Craig. Winnona is survived by her two sons, Sam (Becky) Eckart of Corydon and John (Judy) Eckart of Greenwood, IN, grandchildren, Kyle Eckart (Renee), Darcy Eckart, Pamela Eckart, Lisa Ruble (Ben) and Sarah Waltz (Ben); and her great-grandchildren, Maila, Ava, Aubree, Emersyn, Leah, Allison, Logan. Annika, Mattie and Solomon. Winnona will be remembered for her lovely summer gardens. Many passers-by loved to watch her work in her garden. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed her time as the cafeteria manager at St. Joseph Catholic School. Paul and Winnona spent many years serving chicken at the annual church picnic. Winnona retired after 27 years working at the Keller Manufacturing Company, located in Corydon. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon from 3 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday, December 20, from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Church on December 20, at 11 AM. A private burial will follow. The family asks that memorial gifts be given in Winnona's memory to St. Joseph Catholic, 312 East High Street, Corydon, IN 47112.
