Our paths first crossed in the, "new Black Studies" department at U.of M. Flint where we, among privileged others, were part of a cadre of young scholars who were "woke up" by the firey lectures and after class discussions brought to us by the audacious and brilliant Tony Martin. We bonded in our commitment to, and our joy in serving the cause of the movement for Black Lives ( and thus liberty and justice for all). Woodrow was a brilliant, courageous servant of the people. I am blessed to have been in his circle, once upon a time when we were young. Peace be upon you brother. Rita, you have my deepest sympathy. May your good memories sustain you.

Celebrating the life of a man of excellence in service to the Flint Community, State, Nation and World. He was a man, who believed in equity and inclusion as a public service. His legacy live on in his family, citizens, of Flint.

I remember Woodrow from the early days of McCree Theater and the formation of the theater group, Sanaa Elimu. He went on to "perform" very well in a much larger political arena! My condolences to the Stanley family; I know he will be missed!

I will always cherish the time we shared discussing policy, our 2 hour breakfast meetings, and your unwavering patient. I miss you boss!

To Reta, Jazz, and Heather my love for your father only pales in comparison to the sacrifice and treasure you all gave so that the City of Flint could lean on such a giant.

Thank you,

Love the Brown Family
