William H. "Bill" Stanley Sr. (Joe) passed away on October 16, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. Bill was born in Buffalo, NY on October 15, 1953, and lovingly raised by his grandfather Edwin "Gramps" Stanley and his grandmother Lillian "Gram" Stanley.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Army having enlisted on September 28, 1971 and was discharged on October 13, 1978. He continued his service joining National Guard from January 17, 1981 until November 21, 1994 and maintaining in the reserves until 2013 retiring as a Captain with 39 years of service. Bill joined the Louisville Police Department on January 30, 1980 to serve his community as he missed a feeling of purpose in work. He retired as a Detective in CACU on October 1, 1999.

Bill was preceeded in death by his grandfather Edwin, his grandmother Lilian, his Aunt Barbara "Binki" Pollard, his Uncle William "Bill" Stanley, and his son Ross Alexander Farrow.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Janet Stanley; his daughters Dana Salciccioli (Lou) and Leslie Keiper (Justin); his sons William H. Stanley Jr (Liz) and Lucas Stanley (Rebekah); and his grandsons Michael Schaffer and Gage Bowen.

His visitation is Monday, October 20, 2025 from 4-8 PM at Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville, and funeral service on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at 10 AM also at Highlands before he is laid to rest in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetary Central located at Fort Knox in Radcliff, KY.
