Dennis E. Hardy

Dennis Earl Hardy passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. Dennis was born July 21, 1932, to Lillian and Joseph Raymond Hardy. He graduated from Flaget High School in 1951, served in the U.S Army and retired from BellSouth/AT&T with 43 years of service.

Dennis met and fell in love with his lifelong sweetheart Helen Russell. They married at Christ the King Church in August 1952 and were married 65 years.

Dennis is survived by his children Donna Haskell (Dan), Denise Twyman (Mike), Joseph Hardy (Vicki) and Diana Kuriger (Jeff). Dennis had 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren that he loved dearly.

Dennis had a passion for Lake Cumberland, Lake Okeechobee, as well as playing golf and hanging out with his BellSouth buddies. He also enjoyed socializing at the Jeffersontown Senior Citizens Center. He loved a good margarita, playing cards, telling stories and corny jokes. His sense of humor and wit were present until his passing. He was a frugal soul, however if you needed money or his time, he was always generous with both.

A special thanks to all staff of Baptist East Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Hosparus Health Louisville for their exceptional care, comfort and kindness provided to Dennis and his family.

A celebration of life will be held at Bud's Tavern, 9110 Galene Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40299 on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 1-4 PM.
