Wyatt Austin Cypert, 30, born August 26, 1994, in Springdale, Arkansas, passed away August 31, 2024, in Chania, Greece while on deployment with the U.S. Navy's Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron SEVEN NINE serving as an Aviation Electrician's Mate Third Class. He was stationed at Naval Station Rota, Spain, "The Gateway to the Mediterranean," since May 2022. Prior to that he was stationed at Naval Base Cornado in San Diego, California. Wyatt was a 2013 graduate of Har-Ber High School in Springdale, Arkansas, where he competed on the track and swim teams.
Wyatt had a big heart and a deep love for his family and friends. He loved to make people happy, and he loved to make them laugh. It was impossible to not laugh around him due to his prevailing ornery streak. Wyatt was also a deep thinker; thoughts of everything ran through his mind at all times. He did not simply accept information as it was given to him, but he dug for the truth hidden behind the facts. He would analyze the information he had access to, regarding anything-be it war, religion, financial systems, historical events, etc.-to try and understand why things happen and why they are. He saw the world through a kaleidoscope of opportunity and beauty and was never one to shy away from sharing the way he saw the world with anyone who was willing to listen. He never met a stranger.
Wyatt enjoyed traveling, running, biking, and had become an accomplished scuba diver while stationed in and living on the beach in Rota, Spain. He enjoyed reading and absolutely loved his Kindle, almost always having it with him. He had an amazing eye for photography and was a gifted artist, skilled in a variety of mediums, from the ballpoint pen in his pocket to a paint palette of oils and acrylics. He could pluck a guitar with a meticulous and flamboyant flair and sing with a voice full of mirth. He also enjoyed being with his colleagues, family, and friends, playing cards, having a drink, and joking around. He loved to find the rhythm of any music and bust a move and could make it look effortless every time. He also was a seeker of solitude from time to time, often sitting outside on his patio overlooking the ocean during the day or watching the stars at night for hours on end. And let us never forget his moustache: impeccable, A1 grade, meticulously groomed, and kept to the highest of Naval Sailor moustache standards!
Wyatt was preceded in death by his great grandparents Marvin & Effie Ferriel, L.O. & Sarah Day, Floyd & Golda Coiner, Dale Norris, Ray & Thelma Cypert; grandfather Ronny Cypert; uncle Alex Cypert; and his aunt Denice Day.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, father and bonus-mom Dan & Ofelia Cypert, mother and bonus-dad Amanda & John Coley; sister Lillie Coley; sister and brother-in-law Kalin & Marcus Miller along with nephew Brooks; sister and brother-in law Katherine & Scott Weaver along with nephew Hollis; and his brother from another mother Dominick Briones; grandparents Danny & Vicki Norris, Lois Day & Shon Donnell, Don & Deanna Day, Leslie Cypert, and Yolonda Briones; Aunts Shelley Moore, Angie Ennis, and Catherine Cypert; Uncles Daniel Day, Darrell Ferriel, Jeremy Day, and Matt Norris; and a host of cousins and extended family who loved him dearly.
