Wyonda Huntley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Murray Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. - Cascade Chapel on Dec. 10, 2025.
Ms. Wyonda Desiree' Huntley affectionately known as Desi or Y, peacefully entered
eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Dec 5, 2025 at the age of 62.
Desi was born on Dec 23, 1962 in Gary, Indiana, to Betty Jean Keys and Charles
Calhoun Jr. She was raised in Atlanta, Georgia with her mother and younger Twin
sisters. Desi graduated from Avondale High School where she discovered and nurtured
her talents in technology, landscaping and interior design. She was a devoted daughter,
mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.

Desi was a natural born master electrician who could install some of the most
technologically advanced systems and equipment on the market today.
One of the most inspiring traits Desi possessed was her compassion and care for
people, animals, and nature. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone happy with
her infectious smile and her genuine love for others. She was and still is the reflection of
God's love for all.

She was truly a phenomenal woman who was committed to living a healthy life and
helping others appreciate the life they had and the people they had in it.
Desi was preceded in death by her father, Charles Calhoun Jr., her older sister Elana
Delrise Calhoun (Tina) and her husband, Robert Smith. She is survived by her loving
mother, Betty K. Prichard-Portgee, her amazing daughter, Cherish Mi Amor Huntley, her
Twin sisters, COL Clydea Prichard-Brown, (Eric Upthegrove) and their children, Zion
and Zaria Brown, and COL Clydellia Prichard-Allen (Michael Sr.) and their children,
Airmen First Class Michael Allen Jr (US Air Force) and Kristian Allen. Her deceased
sister, Tina's children, Marlana, Marcella, Maurice and Marcus, and their families. From
the Calhoun side, we have her awesome brother Charlie Calhoun III (Jerry) and his
family, and sister, Cicely Calhoun and her family. Her supportive village included her
loving Aunt, Geraldine Kurtz (Claude), her two awesome first cousins, Chante Jones
and daughter, Sherea and family, and Carlton Jones (Cathy) and their sons Cory,
Clayton and Clark and their families. She had an amazing network of second and third
cousins as well as a host of friends from Avondale High School, Flowers Foods, and
Bass Pro.

Desi's memory will live on in our hearts and minds, and the hearts and minds of all
whom she has crossed paths with. Her unwavering and walk with Christ has assured
us that she is resting in heaven with our heavenly Father .

So sorry to hear this sad news. I worked with Y and had the privilege of calling her friend. You will be missed sweet lady. Rest easy and fly high.

Cherish I hope you read this. I worked with your momma at Cabelas. She was one of the sweetest ladies. I rescued her one day from the top of warehouse racking 20 feet in the air. (Didn't know she was scared of heights till she started to panic) She held on to me and cried and then we laughed about it. She was so beautiful inside and out. We had a lot of good times. I'll look forward to seeing her in heaven! She was so proud of you. Keep all the good memories
