Xenophon "Fonda" Komninos was 78 years old when he passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025.
He was born in a small town in Corfu, Greece. Fonda later immigrated to the United States at the age of 26 wife his wife Paraskevi to pursue the American dream. The couple would settle in Bergenfield where they quickly adapted to American culture. Fonda worked multiple jobs to provide for his family and was loved by all who knew him. He had a long and fulfilling career, retiring at the age of 69 as a chef in many diners throughout New Jersey. His true passion was soccer, Fonda coached youth soccer in Bergenfield for over 20 years where he volunteered and coordinated many programs and fundraisers for local soccer clubs.
Fonda is survived by his beloved wife Paraskevi (nee Karidis) Komninos. He is the loving father of Dimitrios "Jimmy" Komninos and his wife Melanie and John Komninos ad his wife Stacy. He is the cherished grandfather of Hailey, the late Zoey, Dimitri, Julia, and Sarah.
A Funeral Service will be offered at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 51 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ at 11 am on Wednesday, January 15th. Burial will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. The family will receive friends and relatives at St. Athanasios from 10 am to 11 am prior to the Funeral Service.
