Thomas Komninos, 69, of Upper Saddle River, NJ passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022. Born in 1953 to John and Cleopatra Komninos in Brooklyn, NY, Thomas is survived by his beloved wife Winifred, his son Jason, his sister Marie Foti, his nephew Michael Foti, Winifred's brother Stanley Grego, his wife Peggy Grego, and their son and daughter Brian Grego and Maura Villani.
Predeceased by his son, Stephen, Thomas was vastly instrumental in lobbying for the "Stephen Komninos Law," a law designed to help protect adults with developmentally disabilities in group homes, which was officially enacted in 2017.
Upon graduating Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, Thomas went on to receive a Bachelors' and two Masters' degrees from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He spent nearly eighteen years in the financial service industry. Beginning his career at Morgan Stanley and finishing at Ameriprise Financial. He was loved by his teammates at Siena Wealth Advisory Group and his colleagues at the firm. Tom was a beacon of light, positive energy and was always eager to help people. He always had a smile and a laugh that could be heard down the hall. The company was fortunate to have such a dedicated, caring and loyal advisor.
Thomas loved watching the New York Yankees, especially with his son Jason. He loved attending concerts and Broadway shows. He fraternized with such noble and selfless institutions as the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), the Upper Saddle River Lions Club, and Rotary Club of Ramsey.
It was spending time with his lovely wife, Winifred, however, that he loved most of all.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Tuesday, December 20 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, with the Trisagion Service at 5:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ, www.vpfh.com
