Xyla Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Jan. 15, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Xyla Reign Smith, who left us far too soon on January 9, 2026, at just five months old. Born on August 1, 2025, in Maryland, Xyla brought joy and light into the lives of everyone around her.
Xyla was the cherished daughter of Gerald Smith II and Nashira Taylor. Xyla was the most beautiful five-month-old with the brightest eyes and biggest smile. She could sit on her own, hold her bottle, and could roll over on her own. She loved to laugh and squeal. She melted every heart she had ever touched. Xyla was pure love and life in her family's lives. Though her time with us was brief, she touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. From her sweet giggles to her expressive little smiles, Xyla created countless memories with her family.
She had a zest for life, often delighting in her favorite foods like bananas and sweet potatoes. Some of the best moments were spent watching football with her dad and grandpa, cheering for their favorite teams. Xyla found joy in the little things, especially while watching her favorite show, Gracie's Corner, on YouTube, where she joined in the fun with songs and colors.
Besides her parents Xyla is survived by her 6 brothers, Jakari, Nazir, Ramell, baby Gerald, Zyaire and Zion. Her gg Nancy, pop pop Elliott, her nana Deborah, her grandpa Gerald Sr., her grandpa Gary, her aunt Ashely, her uncle Kai'zayah along with many cousins especially Anyla and Jayani.
Proceeding Xyla in death are her great grandmother Mary Hayes and Cousins Donte DeWitt and Dennis Lee Hayes.
In honor of Xyla's life, visitation will be held at the Holloway Funeral Home 501 Snow Hill Rd. Salisbury, Md 21804 on January 16, 2026, from 10:00 - 11:00am.
She has always been our perfect angel and now she truly is an angel watching over us all. Xyla may be gone but she will never be forgotten.
