Yesenia Montes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, Corsicana on Dec. 9, 2025.
A Woman of Faith, Love & Unshakable Strength

With deepest love, we honor the life of Yesenia Montes, a woman whose heart, faith, and spirit formed the very foundation of our family. She was a strong believer, a loving mother, a devoted wife to Javier, and the guiding light for her children - Laura, Griselda, Yesenia, Thomas, and Arlene - and for the eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and future grandchildren who will come to know her through the love and stories we carry.

Mom loved God with her whole heart. She loved church, she loved worship, and she lived her faith in everything she did. She prayed quietly, constantly, and with purpose. She was our silent warrior - the one who went to battle for us through prayer. Whenever we needed her, her first words were, "I'll pray for you."

Because of her, we grew up knowing that when life got hard, even if we didn't pray ourselves, God was still hearing us through her voice. She carried us in her prayers every morning, every night, and every time she thought of us. There is no doubt in our hearts that her prayers were the strength behind this family.

Mom gave us a childhood full of love, comfort, and warmth. She showed us that wealth isn't about possessions - it's about love, faith, laughter, and togetherness. With her, we always felt like we had everything. We truly felt like the most blessed family in the world because we had her.

She was full of life, full of laughter, full of energy. She loved everything from spicy food, to making morning breakfasts, creating special little traditions that now feel like treasures. Mom had hobbies that were pure "her" - tambourines when we were young. She was crafty, sentimental, adventurous and creative. If something had meaning, she saved it.

Mom loved gatherings, she loved hearing stories, giving advice, and comforting others with words that seemed to come straight from God. She always knew exactly what to say. She extended her love not only to her children but to all who joined our family, welcoming them with the same grace and affection she gave her own.

She set traditions that became the heartbeat of our family. Christmas was her season. No one did Christmas like Mom. She created magic every year. So, when Christmas comes, we won't let sadness take over. We will remember Mom. We will honor her, celebrate the way she celebrated, and embrace the joy she brought. And though she is no longer here physically, she will never be forgotten. We take comfort knowing that you are in a better place now. Free, peaceful, healed, and whole. While our hearts are heavy, we also know that your spirit is still with us, watching over us now the same way you prayed over us.

Today, we honor a remarkable woman-one whose love blessed us, whose prayers guided us, and whose presence left an everlasting impact on our lives.
