Sandra Wolver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, Corsicana on Dec. 9, 2025.
Sandra K. Wolver, 78, of Corsicana passed away on December 8, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born February 15, 1947, in Rockford, Illinois to Sam Giovingo and Dorothy Stores.

For more than 30 years, Sandy lived the beautiful and sometimes challenging life of a pastor's wife. She carried that role with grace, humility, and a deep love for people. Ministry wasn't something she did on Sundays - it was the way she lived every day. Wherever she went, Sandy served. She encouraged. She prayed. She taught. She listened. She showed Christ's love in small, faithful ways that made a big difference.

Sandy also worked at Walmart for 23 years, where she also would retire. But even there, ministry never stopped. She turned her workplace into a place of kindness and connection. Coworkers became friends, and customers became people she cared for. She lived out her faith in the aisles and break rooms just as much as she did in the church. Also, she was awarded by the Governor of Iowa the congressional bravery award at the age of 16 years old for saving her sister in a house fire.

More than anything, Sandy loved her family. She cherished being a wife, a mom, a daughter, a grandmother, and a sister. These roles brought her some of her greatest joys. She poured herself into the people she loved - celebrating their victories, praying through their struggles, and showing up whenever she was needed.

Sandy leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness - not flashy or loud, but steady, sincere, and strong. A legacy of serving others, loving deeply, and pointing people to God through the way she lived.

Though our hearts hurt today, we also hold gratitude. Gratitude for her life, her love, her example, and the way she blessed each of us. And we have the hope that the same Lord she served with her whole heart is the One who now holds her in perfect peace.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dennis Wolver, her parents, Dorothy & Sam Giovingo and brother Paul Giovingo. She leaves behind her children, Jimmy Wolver and wife Chelsea, Mike Wolver, Denny Wolver and wife Darlene and Sarah Love and husband Jeffrey. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Erica, Dylan, Layton, Savana, Taylor, Jaden, Kaitlyn and Zack, great grandchildren, Frankie, Charlie and Raiden.

Sandy will be dearly missed, but she will never be forgotten.

Her legacy for the Lord will live on thru her children and children's children.
