Yolanda Mora

Yolanda Mora, 61, of Hood River, Oregon, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 10, 1964, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and immigrated to Hood River at age 20 after marrying her husband, Jose Mora. Yolanda quickly became a beloved member of the community, known for her warmth, style, humor, and dedication to others.

Yolanda worked for 28 years as an administrative assistant with the Hood River Health Department's Environmental Health Team. She also earned her Spanish Medical Interpreter credentials and served Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital for 10 years, supporting patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. She was widely respected for her compassion and her ability to connect with both patients and colleagues.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Yolanda found her greatest joy in her family. She was especially cherished by her grandchildren-Celia, Emilia, and Paloma-who knew her as, "Mama Yoly." She was known for her generosity, particularly during the holidays, and for always taking time to help those in need.

Yolanda previously overcame cancer in 2015. After its return in 2024, she faced her final battle with strength and grace.

She is survived by her husband, Jose; her son, Joel; her daughter, Maribel; and her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Andrew.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, please contact family for details.

Nació el 10 de octubre de 1964 en Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, y emigró a Hood River a los 20 años tras casarse con su esposo, José Mora. Yolanda se convirtió rápidamente en una persona muy querida en la comunidad, conocida por su calidez, elegancia, sentido del humor y dedicación a los demás.

Yolanda trabajó durante 28 años como asistente administrativa en el equipo de Salud Ambiental del Departamento de Salud de Hood River. También obtuvo su certificación como intérprete médica de español y prestó sus servicios en el Hospital Providence Hood River Memorial durante 10 años, brindando apoyo a los pacientes en algunos de sus momentos más vulnerables. Era muy respetada por su compasión y su capacidad para conectar tanto con pacientes como con colegas.

Esposa, madre y abuela devota, Yolanda encontraba su mayor alegría en su familia. Era especialmente querida por sus nietas, Celia, Emilia y Paloma, quienes la conocían como "Mamá Yoly". Era conocida por su generosidad, particularmente durante las fiestas festivas, y por siempre dedicar tiempo a ayudar a quienes lo necesitaban.

Yolanda había superado un cáncer en 2015. Tras su reaparición en 2024, enfrentó su última batalla con fortaleza y serenidad.

Le sobreviven su esposo, José; su hijo, Joel; su hija, Maribel; y su nuera y yerno, Victoria y Andrew.
