Yolanda "Nana" Ramirez, 77, of Pearsall, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in her hometown. Born on October 5, 1947, in Pearsall, she remained deeply rooted in the community that shaped her life and where she built a legacy of love and devotion.
Yolanda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She married her childhood sweetheart, Tomas Ramirez, with whom she shared a lifelong bond and raised four beloved children: Leonard, Jerry, Tommy, and Betty Ann. Their union was one of enduring love and partnership-a foundation for the family they nurtured together. Known affectionately as "Nana," Yolanda embraced her role as the heart of her family. Her warmth extended beyond her immediate household to include many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who cherished her presence. She was especially close to her siblings-Mary Jane Escalante and Julie Westbrook; brothers Rey and Ruben Maldonado-who survive her and carry forward the deep familial bonds they shared. Yolanda was preceded in death by her father, Rey Maldonado Sr., her recently departed mother, Cruz Maldonado, her beloved husband, Tomas Ramirez, and her sister Sylvia Valle-all of Pearsall.
The thought of their reunion brings comfort to those mourning her loss. A woman of simple joys and quiet strength, Yolanda found happiness in tending to her yard and caring for her dog. Her home was a place of welcome and warmth-a reflection of the kindness she carried within. Always wearing a smile, she brought light into every room she entered. Her beauty radiates from within as much as it did from without. Yolanda's gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She will be remembered not only for the love she gave but also for the grace with which she lived. We take great solace in knowing that Nana now rests peacefully and is rejoined with her parents, sister Sylvia, and beloved husband Tomas in heaven with our Lord and Savior. May Yolanda "Nana" Ramirez's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
