Obituary
Yugonda Nicole Bolden, a radiant and loving soul went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2025, in West Chester, OH at the age of 44. Born on June 6, 1980 in Joliet, IL, Yugonda's life was a vibrant tapestry of faith, love, style, service and unwavering devotion to her family.
She began her early education at Parks Elementary School in Joliet, before moving to Cincinnati, OH in 1989 at just nine years old. There, she blossomed into a young lady of grace, strength and purpose. She attended Schwab Junior High and graduated from Aiken High School in 1998, where she met her childhood sweetheart, Dion L. Bolden Sr., the father of her only two sons and the love of her youth.
Yugonda was the epitome of elegance and spirit. A true fashionista and globe-trotter, she found joy in travel and self-expression, often turning heads with her unmistakable style and warm presence. But her proudest role was being a mother. She loved her two sons, Dion L. Bolden, Jr. and Diondre L. Bolden, more than life itself. They were her heartbeats, her daily joy and her enduring legacy. She also shared a mean- ingful bond with her bonus son, James N. Newman III, whom she embraced as her own.
A woman deeply rooted in her faith, Yugonda was a God-fearing woman who lived according to the Word and stood firmly on the promises of the Bible. Her life was a living testimony of compassion and unwavering trust in God.
Her academic journey reflected her passion for service. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from Cincinnati State Technical College in 2007, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati in 2010. She dedicated her professional life to uplifting others, as an Intervention Specialist for Cincinnati Public Schools and a Mental Health Specialist at Talbert House. Whether in the classroom, the community or the sanctuary, Yugonda was always working to heal, help and inspire.
She was preceded in death by Laura M Freeman (Mother).
She is survived by: her loving sons, Dion L. Bolden Jr., Diondre L. Bolden and bonus son, James N. Newman III, all of Cincinnati; her devoted father, Timothy E. Jones Sr.; her sister, Roslyn R. Love; her brothers, Alex T. Freeman and Eric D. Freeman, all of Cincinnati; and her devoted in-laws, Stephanie and Charles T. Moody. Yugonda also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues whose lives were touched by her warmth.
Yugonda Nicole Bolden walked through life with grace, loved fiercely, gave selflessly and believed deeply. Her absence leaves an unfillable space, but her legacy of love, faith and light will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
