Yvonne Elizabeth Fleming Daniels, better known as "Von", daughter of the late Ernest Fleming,
Sr. and Inetta Hawkins Fleming, was born May 22, 1957 and departed this life to be with the
Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Yvonne was a graduate of J. H. Rose Senior High School, class of 1975. Reared in church at a
young age, Yvonne truly loved and served God. She lived her life for Christ.
Yvonne married her high school sweetheart, Leroy Daniels, Jr. on December 16, 1978. Their
union was blessed with two sons, Antony and Torel Daniels. She was a devoted wife and
mother. She supported her eldest son, Tony, as a Turner Job Core Graduate. He is now
pursuing a long-distance truck driving career. She supported her youngest son, Torel, as an
Eagle Scout and an Aggie graduate. She was also a board member of Torel's non-profit
organization, GoinGlobal.
Yvonne was a motivated and personable administrative professional. She held a degree in
Administrative Technology from Pitt Community College. She worked at DSM Pharmaceuticals,
Inc. and retired after 30 years of employment. She was also employed at Vidant Medical Center
as an administrative secretary for the Volunteer Services Department. She compassionately
served as president and vice president of the International Association of Administrative
Professionals (IAAP). She offered invaluable assistance to many administrators throughout her
tenure in these roles.
Yvonne had many hobbies. She enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers, decorating,
singing, exercising, watching t.v., cooking, cooking, and more cooking. Her world-famous
baked macaroni and cheese will be missed! She loved spending time with her siblings and
family. She loved her nieces and nephews as her own.
Yvonne was a caring, kind and doting grandmother, affectionately referred to as "granny". She
loved spending time with and spoiling her one and only grandchild, Seven. She was the
highlight of Yvonne's life. Yvonne was a very proud and dedicated grandmother.
In additional to her parents, Mr. Ernest Fleming, Sr. and Mrs. Inetta Hawkins Fleming, Yvonne
was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Carlton Daniels and Randy Daniels and one
sister-in-law, Gloria Mayo.
Yvonne leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Leroy Daniels, Jr; two sons,
Antony Daniels (Nora) of Winterville, NC and Torel Daniels (Ebony) of Clayton, NC; one
granddaughter, Seven Zionmarie Daniels; two sisters, Susette Sheppard and Wanda Smith,
both of Greenville, NC; three brothers, Ernest Fleming Jr. (Deborah) of Kinston, NC, Pastor
Canaan Fleming (Darlene) of Winterville, NC, and Rondy Fleming (Lora) of Winterville, NC; two
sisters-in-law, Dezzie Daniels, and Merita Richardson (Gary); two brothers-in-law, Malcolm
Daniels (Annette) and Jerome Daniels; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
friends. And two very special friends, Perla Santos and Carolyn Daniels.

Best choir Director ever. Best singer, never sang a lie. She lived the life she sang about! Ran into her not long ago in Dollar Tree and we acted like we were outside talking and laughing. It is definitely earth´s loss that this light is shining in Heaven now!
