1st Lieutenant Richard C. Daniels passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at his daughter's home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born to John and Margaret Daniels, Richard lived a life marked by honor, dedication, and deep love for those closest to him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a recipient of the Order of Saint Barbara, the most distinguished award bestowed upon artillery personnel for exceptional service and leadership.
Richard's proudest accomplishment was his family. He is survived by his wife Audrey, his devoted daughter, Dr. Alicia L. Daniels; his loving son, Dr. Richard J. Daniels; Wendy Schugardt, Susan Fogarty, Ricky Brody and Michael Brody, his devoted son in laws, Bruce Fogarty and David Schugardt and his cherished grandchildren - Master Sergeant Ryan Fogerty, Connor Daniels, Luke Wagner, Briana Daniels and Colby Richard Wagner, Heidi Richter, Amy Gruenewald, Ashley LaFrance, Scott Brody and Heather Robbin and his 11 great grandchildren. He is also the loving brother of Robert Daniels, Marie Wagner, the late Margaret Daniels and the late John Daniels.
Richard's life was guided by faith, family, and service. He will be remembered as a proud and devoted father, cherished grandfather, loyal brother, and true patriot whose kindness and strength will forever be an inspiration to all who knew him. Richard will also be remembered for always making his family his top priority and the memories he and his family have made will last forever in their hearts.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Richard, donations may be made to a cause close to his heart Tunnels to Towers Foundation www.t2t.org
