Yvonne Sosby, a devoted homemaker and cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024, in Commerce, Georgia. Born on August 8, 1953, in Toccoa Georgia, she filled her days with love and dedication to those around her.
Yvonne’s life was characterized by her deep commitment to her family. She is survived by her beloved spouse, George Sosby, and their son, Tyson (Larkin) Sosby. Yvonne’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kailey Sosby, Cara Sosby, and Ansley Sosby, who brought her great joy and pride.
In addition to her immediate family, Yvonne is survived by her sister, Mary Ayers, and her brothers, Calvin (Sue) Peace, Curtis (Brenda) Peace, and Randy Peace. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, each holding a special place in her heart.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her father, Otis Peace, her mother Ethelyn Fulgium Peace, and her grandson, Landon Sosby. These losses were profoundly felt by her family, and they will forever cherish the memories shared with her.
The family will hold a visitation on September 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529. A funeral service will be held the following day, September 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM, at Beaverdam Baptist Church, located at 1627 GA-59, Commerce, GA 30530. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Yvonne will be remembered fondly as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
