Zachary Calvin Scott

Zachary Calvin Scott was born on July 14, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born into the union of the late Mr. Isiah and Mrs. Mildred L. Scott.
Zachary Scott received his education in the public-school system of Jacksonville, Florida. He worked for several years as a Merchant Seaman and was a dedicated Longshoreman with ILA Local 1408, from November 1969 and retired in August of 1988. After some time of enjoying his retirement, he found a hobby that he enjoyed which became his business Z & B Trucking from 2001 to 2002. Once this hobby was over, he returned to retirement spending time with his wife and family. His time was spent supporting his grands in whatever they were doing. He enjoyed traveling to and attending his granddaughter, Jaida's track meet.
Zachary was preceded in death by his Sisters, Delores L. Smith, Betty J. Prince and Jacquelyn E. Scott; Brothers, Gerald L. Smith, James F. Smith, Eric V. Scott and Stephen Scott (Big Daddy); Mother-In-Love Beatrice Davis(Mama).
On July 27, 2025, Mr. Zachary Scott went home to be with his Lord and Savior. His memory will be cherished by the love of his life, Brenda A. Scott; Zachary will be forever missed by his Children: Toni Callahan, Cherokee Tyson, Lori Dailey (William) and Salon Scott; Zachary was a devoted Granddad and will be greatly missed by his Grandchildren: Sammie Green, Artrell Johnson, Ebony Wallace, Darian Tarver, Nikkeria Tyson, India Callahan and Jadia Callahan; Great Grandchildren: Artrell Johnson II and Kaison Tarver; Sisters: Lillian L. Smith, Patricia A. Bly (Clyde), Ronnice Freeman (Esau), Arnette Ward (John) Patricia Stokes, Jacqueline Collins(Robert) and Seria Alexander; Brothers Richard I Scott, Stanley L. Scott, Juan M. Alexander (Angela), Dexter Alexander (Velma) and Carl M. Alexander; devoted Nephew Mr. David L. Sykes; His Best Friends: George Killian and Ronald Hargrove; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many dear friends.
The funeral service for Zachary Calvin Scott will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 9th, 2025 at the Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday, August 8th, 2025 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
