Zai Montiece Morris

Zai Montiece Morris 44, son of Charles "CB" Brown and Denise Morris Brown, James and Lila "Cookie" Lewis died on September 2nd at Prisma Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina. Zai (pronounced "shy") was a lifelong resident of Clemson SC. He was born on August 19, 1980. He graduated from D.W. Daniel High School in 1999 and attended Morris College in Sumter SC. He was employed by Borg Warner Inc as a Machinist II for the past 3 years. Prior to his employment at BorgWarner, he enjoyed his position as a sioux chef at "Doolittles" restaurant in Anderson, SC.
He was baptized at the age of 18, at New Hope Baptist Church, in Clemson.
Zai was a quiet and very private young man who had a passion for cooking and fellowshipping with friends. Sports were also a favorite pasttime. He loved football (Go Tigers!!!) and basketball. He loved most genres of music. His spare time was spent relaxing in front of the tv with his favorite girl, his cat "Sassy". Zai always enjoyed spending quality time with his family, and with his girlfriend, Ms. Courtney Laun.
He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, his brother, Everett "Layke" Brown, his grandfather, William F. Morris Jr of Clemson SC, sisters, Natasha Brown (JaDon), of Simpsonville SC, Jeanne Lewis of Greenville, SC and Mary Lewis (Jaylen) of Clayton, NC. Zai enjoyed a special relationship with his cousins, Bryan Lewis (Michelle) of Simpsonville SC, Roneesha "Nina" McDowell of Fountain Inn SC and Dezrick Morris of Atlanta GA. Zai loved his aunts Debra McDowell, Taritha "Mooch" Morris and his Uncles William "Rick" Morris, of Fountain Inn, SC, and Gordon Webb of Clemson SC. Zai had a special affection for the Brown family, including aunts Patricia Cooper, Dorothy Caldwell and Betty Alexander (Seneca SC). Uncles include Bill Brown (Blacksburg NC) Robert Brown (Seneca SC) Kenneth Brown (Clemson SC), and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mr. Morris will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Clemson United Methodist Church, 300 Frontage Road, Clemson, SC, at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Garden, Centra, SC.
Public Viewing: Friday, September 13, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the mortuary.
