Zelma Mae Larimer

Zelma Mae Larimer (Thomas), age 101, of Buffalo, Missouri entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at home with her loving family by her side. Zelma was born in Long Lane, Missouri at her family home to Riley and Lydia Thomas. Zelma grew up on the family farm with three brothers and her father while losing her mother at the age of four. Zelma met her loving husband, James Larimer, while at a church event and it was "Happily Ever After" from there on out. Zelma and James married on November 07, 1942 and were married for 69 years. Zelma and her husband ran a family farm and adopted two loving children, David and Carolyn. Zelma was big in her faith and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Southern Baptist and proceeded to be a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon Wife. Zelma was big in her faith and always expressed her love for the Lord. Zelma and her husband moved from their family farm to their "forever home" in Buffalo, Missouri in 1992. Zelma was preceded in death by her husband James Larimer, parents Riley and Lydia (Marks) Thomas, three brothers Raymond (Lela) Thomas, Howard (Birdeen) Thomas, and Loran (Norma) Thomas, her son, David Larimer, and grandson Bob Dill. Zelma is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Dale) Harrison of Buffalo, daughter-in-law Joyce (David) Larimer, granddaughter Angie (Michael) Allivato of Buffalo, granddaughter Alicia (Bob) Dill of Buffalo, granddaughter Becky (Scott) Turner of Elkland, grandson Jeff (Laryssa) Larimer of Strafford. MO, granddaughter Julie Larimer of Buffalo, MO as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandkids and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Whistler, Bro. Rich Durham, and Bro. Richard Wouters officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Zelma has designated memorial contributions to be given to the Southwest Baptist University Missions or Missouri Children's home.
