Zelpha Scott, daughter of the late Glen and Christiana (Davidson) Jones, was born August 31, 1938, in Macomb, Missouri. She entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 86.
Zelpha grew up in the Macomb community. She was united in marriage to Bobby Leroy Scott on October 1, 1954. Four children were born to this union. Zelpha loved her family dearly. She enjoyed attending church services when able, reading, and working with her flowers. Zelpha loved caring for her long haired dachshund, “Oscar.” She also enjoyed visits from her grand dogs, “Monster”, “Lil’ Bit”, and “Annabelle” and they loved going to “Granny’s House”. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Besides her parents, Zelpha was preceded in death by an infant sister; four brothers, James, Samuel, Richard M., and Huland Jones; two grandsons, Jason “Bacon” Thornton and Graham Spindler; and former daughter-in-law, Glenda Scott.
Zelpha is survived by two sons, Jerry Scott and wife, Leigh, of Norwood, and Randy Scott and wife, Peggy, of Springfield, Missouri; two daughters, Pam Spindler and husband, Troy, of Macomb, and Linda Mallernee and husband, Randy, of Norwood; six grandchildren, Nathan Moore (Jamie), Scott Mallernee (Jessica), Jacob Scott (Misty), Justin Scott (Anya), Tim Thornton II (Heidi), and Nasha Lambert; fourteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Zelpha will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege and joy of knowing her.
Memorial contributions may be made to Macomb Cemetery in memory of Zelpha.
